Aslan or Witch's side: Well, it's complicated. Even though he is, at heart, on Aslan's side, he is too afraid of the Witch to admit this.

Personality:
Tumnus is, despite what you might think of him, a good Faun. He has just gone through some bad experiences. He lost his father to Jadis early on in the winter, and his mother died when he was young. Tumnus is, for the most part, a gentle, kind Faun, but his fear sometimes gets the better of him and causes him to do things he wouldn’t normally do. He is very timid and afraid of a lot of things. He is a bit of a pushover. Though he is intelligent, he often hides this with his awkward demeanor and shyness. He has learned his lessons the hardest way possible, and is now extremely loyal to his friends to make up for betraying them earlier. He feels the need to repent for his actions and do things to fix them - the creature who is hardest on him is himself. He carries a heavy burden of regret on his shoulders, and wishes he could take back a lot of the things he did, and is very grateful when he is given a second chance by Aslan and the Pevensies. He appreciates life more than most because of this, and doesn't take anything for granted. He dedicates himself to being a "good" Faun when the winter ends.

Description of Physical Being:
Like most Fauns, he has horns, fluted ears, a rounded nose, goat legs, cloven hooves, and a tail. Not to mention fur/long hair almost all over his body, except for his chest. Tumnus walks sort of like a goat on two legs - he has haunches, like most four-legged animals, and knees that bend "backwards" by human standards. He kind of stoops because of this. He is also a bit awkward, even clumsy, because he is a bit of a nervous Faun. Though he hates winter, he hardly ever wears anything. Even during the Hundred Years, he wears nothing but a scarf - a (some-what tattered) red one. He is kept warm by his fur. He also wears a green scarf during the coronation, and after that, doesn't wear anything. Fauns are normally wild dwellers of the forest, and only "domestic" ones like Tumnus would have reason to wear clothing.
